Concert Review by U.S. Fan Club member, Brian Sjedin. Thanks Brian!

A friend and I traveled by car, then about 7 hrs. & 400 miles later we arrived in Cincinnati, OH which was the day before our Entertainer Of The Year would be rocking the town. As we drove by the hotel where we had reservations, what did we see but at least 2 of Shania's buses parked in front. We proceeded to check in while we heard that Shania, her band, & Shane were all staying at the same hotel. While we ran into Shane and most of Shania's band and talked to some for a while, we didn't see Shania. That persuaded us to go to the horse stables & race track the next day but still no Shania.Later, we arrived at the venue and watched Shane Minor play for about 30 mins. to get the crowd ready for Shania. He did a great job of doing that! After that, the anticipation of waiting for Shania to appear was growing fast.Within 30 mins. later the lights dimmed and the crowd was roaring. Shania took control of the big yellow spotlight and said, "Are you ready Cincinnati?" in which the crowd roared even louder. Again, she says, "ARE YOU READY CINCINNATI?!" This time the noise was deafening. She kicked off the show with Rock This Country then she continued with Honey, I'm Home, Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?, Love Gets Me Every Time, That Don't Impress Me Much, When and her usual set list of songs which were mixed up in a different order. It's nice that she changes it like that. It makes her concerts fresh. The whole arena was singing and dancing to her awesome music.

During the first half of the show, she was wearing the silver top & shorts then changed into the pink top & pants for the remainder of the show.At this time, she proceeds to make her rounds by riding on her platform and slapping hands with all her fans and this time I received a slap also. She made it back to the stage and soon enough she came to her song, Come On Over. We had a large sign which we were holding up during the whole song in hopes she would see it. After she finished up that song, she decided it was time to look for glowsticks. We held the sign up along with our glowsticks and waving them non-stop. She said that she see's 2 green glowsticks and calls us up to the stage. During our journey to the stage, she sings No One Needs To Know & You're Still The One. She finally spots us at the corner of the stage and tells us to come on up. It was so exciting to be on her stage! She did the usual thing and asked us our names and posed for a couple pictures with us. It was great! At this time, we told her that she usually asks what our favorite songs are and said that our favorite song off of her debut album, Shania Twain, is the only one that she wrote on the album, God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That. Then we asked if she could sing a little bit of it. She responded cheerfully, "I don't think I can remember the words to that one." As my friend says, "I do!" and pulls the microphone along with Shania's hand closer and starts singing a verse, I join in singing along with Shania. It was awesome! I don't think I've ever seen her laugh that hard. She then gave us a 3rd & final hug and we proceeded off the stage which is pretty easy when you're floating!

She then summed up the show with songs like, I'm Holdin On To Love (To Save My Life), Man! I Feel Like A Woman, Any Man Of Mine, Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You), You Win My Love and (If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here! At the end, large guns shot confetti throughout the area. It was one awesome show!
We were in the in the lime-light after the show high-fiving and shaking hands with many people. We were even asked to pose for pictures and sign autographs. It was a night that I'll never forget. It was awesome and it was all because of Shania Twain! Thank you Shania!!!

Cincinnati Concert at Firstar Center!

I thought that the concert I had attended with my husband in Columbus was great but the one I went to with my son and his friend in Cincinnati was better, it was fantastic!!! Maybe it was because we were a lot closer, we had seats on the side of the stage, but they were in 7th row. Shania was pretty close that we didn't need binoculars, but I used them anyway , just for a few really close ups, Shania looked Great! As the lights went out, from where we were sitting, you could see the band come up from behind going up to the stage, and Shania , we saw her come around to it must have been a changing room on the side of the stairs to which she entered. As the band began to play Shania came out of the room, climbed the stairs, moved to center stage and then over to the big yellow spot light that she pointed out into the audience and yelled "Are You Ready Cincinnati?!" "I Said Are You Ready Cincinnati?!!" At that She started singing "Rock This Country" then "Honey I'm Home" ,"Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under", "Love Gets Me Every Time", "Holding On To Love", "Don't Be Stupid", "No One Needs To know" and Shania told us that this was her favorite one off of the CD "When" Except for the first two songs, I can't remember in which order she sang some of the songs! Shania had on that silver outfit that she had on for the TV special. She looked really good! When she took a short break, we saw Shania come down the stairs and into that changing room, we watched as they brought that platform (the one she stands on to go around through the audience) around and shortly after Shania emerged from the room ran over and jumped on to the platform and off they went! Shania, then had on another outfit that she wore on the special, the pink one, that one was beautiful, I liked that one more so than the silver one! I can't believe we were sitting where we got to see all of this, it was something to see some of the behind the stage going on's! After what seemed like a long time Shania finally got back up to the stage! There was a T-shaped extension of the stage and Shania was out there singing about half the time too! She signed a lot of autographs and touched a lot of hands! One couple who got her autograph was telling her about how they had met at another one of her concerts.

One guy gave her his black cowboy hat, she wore it a very short spell and then gave it back to him, when she turned and walked away he threw it back up onto that middle platform that she stands on! Shania got a lot of flowers and gifts! She even got a gift for her dog Tim.  Shania picked these two guys out in the audience(I think they had those green glow lights) to come up on stage. When they got up there one was telling her about his favorite song on her first CD to which she joked I don't remember and he started singing it to her "God Ain't Gonna Getcha For That", he sounded pretty good too! Shania also signed on some guys shirt and anothers ballcap bill. Anyway, after getting back on stage after the break Shania sang"Any Man Of Mine", "That Don't Impress Me Much", "Come On Over", "You Win My Love", and then she sat on a white stool and thanked us for making this song her number one hit "You're Still The One". When she sang "Man I Feel Like A Woman" the crowd went nuts. I loved when she held the mic out towards the audience and said "Sing It!" to which we did. I love that song! Shania also told us that she wouldn't be doing any more concerts for a year and a half to two years! Her last song was "I'm Outta Here". When Shania yelled" Good Night Everyone, You Were Great !" machines on both sides of the stage started trowing out tons of large confetti, it looked really awesome! The night was just fantastic! But it seemed to go so fast!

Shania, you were just Great! Love You!

Cincinnati Concert at the Firstar Center! by Kyle

Shania was wearing her titanium colored outfit that she wears in Dallas on CBS when she rang up on stage. "Are your ready Cincinnati", then she runs out on the runway and starts singing "Rock This Country". Of coarse I was singing word for word, but this song is not very familiar to Shania's fans, so the crowd reaction was not as enthusiastic as it was when she opened up her concerts with "Man, I Feel Like A Woman!" But Shania soon exploded with a fan favorite-"Honey, I'm Home!" , "Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under!" Soon, she sang "Any Man Of Mine" which is just an awesome song..and we all went nuts! She then sang "That Don't Impress Me Much", and my friend Lindsay's all-time favorite Shania song: "Come On Over." Then she announced to the audience that her next song was written for women, and that the men love it too because they wish they could be a woman!..RIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHT.....no the reason us men love that song is because of its upbeat tempo and unique sequencing! IT'S TRUE!..anyways......it was "Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" I have never seen a reaction to that song in either Albany, Phoenix, or Columbus like I saw here in Cincinnat!..Everyone got up off their feet and just went NUTTS! Literally everyone was singing and going crazzzzzzzzzzzzy!

Shania was so astounded that she left most of the chorus up to US to sing!!!!!!!! So as you can probably imagine I was kinda bummed that she still didnt keep that song from being her opening one, because that just makes people get up and dance!!!! So I'm wondering how the crowed in Dallas is going to react to "Rock This Country" as being the opening song! Anyways, It got increasingly better after that......She sang another great song that makes you want to dance and that was: "You Win My Love"! We went nutts for that song too! Well she ended it with "I'm Out of Here" Just like at all the other concerts I have attended. But here she did not do an oncore....nor did she sing .."From This Moment On," one of my favorites:"Black Eyes Blue Tears," "God Bless This Child," The Woman In Me Medely, or "You've Got A Way". But I do realize those songs would have taken away some of the awesome moment that Shania received in Cincinnati! The 4 hour drive was worth it (resident of Toledo, OH). I had a good time, and so did my g/f's who said it was the best concert they had ever been too!

Shania's at home with thousands of friends

Review by Carole L. Philipps, Post Living Editor

Shania Twain came calling Monday evening at Firstar Center, where she rocked the house, saw some old friends and made some new ones as she winds down her first tour, begun a year and half ago.

Ms. Twain first appeared behind a huge spotlight, the better to get a look at the near capacity crowd. Then she and her nine-piece band exploded into ''Rock This Country.'' She was dressed in silver hot pants and a fitted top, plus matching boots, where she cleverly stowed her transmitter. She next launched into ''Honey I'm Home,'' her anthem for working women, and set the tone for the evening.

This extension of her 1998 tour played much as her appearance at Riverbend Music Center a year ago August. With close to 90 minutes of pop/country songs from her two multi-platinum albums (''The Woman in Me'' and ''Come On Over''), Ms. Twain dazzled the crowd with her presence and her open acceptance of her audience.

She both sang and signed her way through the concert. On a T-shaped extension of the stage that put her squarely in the midst of the front-row seats, she bent repeatedly to sign autographs. And she accepted tribute from boys and men, girls and women - flowers, hats, stuffed animals, notes and even goodies for her dog Tim.

After changing into a peach/pink spangled two-piece with bell-bottoms, Ms. Twain was hoisted on a litter and carried around and among the floor-seat customers, touching literally hundreds of hands and signing more autographs.

Back on stage, Ms. Twain invited a pair of light-stick-waving fans on stage for a Polaroid picture with her, and one of them serenaded her with an a capella version of ''God Ain't Gonna Getcha for That'' from her self-named first album.

As is her custom, Ms. Twain invited four fans from high in the seats to occupy prime real estate in front of the stage and she announced that part of the concert's proceeds will benefit the FreeStore/FoodBank.

The concert provided plenty of fireworks, as pyrotechnic displays repeatedly exploded from the darkened stage, but the real heat came from Ms. Twain and her engaging high-energy performance of 15 of the songs that fans love.

''That Don't Impress Me Much,'' ''Any Man of Mine,'' ''You're Still the One,'' ''Come On Over'' and ''Man! I Feel Like a Woman!'' had fans clapping and dancing. The gentle ''When'' and the sweet ''No One Needs to Know'' had teens, matrons, mothers and cute little Shania-wannabes singing along.

For her finale, Ms. Twain invited four drummers from the Walton-Verona High School band to add their licks to ''(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here.'' With more pyrotechnics lighting the stage, the petite 5-foot-4 singer was nearly obscured by a barrage of colorful confetti launched from stage-side cannons.

Ms. Twain told the audience she will not do another full tour for a year and a half or two. But fans will get the turkey over with Thursday in time for another dose of Shania. Her concert from Texas Stadium in Irving is on CBS stations at 8 p.m.
