"Well Shania, that oughta shut everybody up. You did it, baby!"-Vince Gill

Shania performing her latest single, "Come On Over" at the 1999 CMA Awards and receiving an award for International Achievement.  Later, Shania would win Entertainer of the Year. 
 

"This honor comes mostly as a surprise, because I sort of convinced myself I wasn't going to win a thing. It's my first CMA. I don't resent not winning one before. I learned not to set myself up for disappointment whether I thought I deserved it or not. I was really prepared not to win." 

"I have to meet Dolly Parton after the show. She's my biggest, hugest inspirationof all time. I can't leave the building tonight without meeting her." 

Shania Twain, at a backstage press conference, on celebrity: "We love the attention when its complimentary; we hate it when it sucks. As far as the actual fame goes, I don't like being treated like a star."
