The recordings are not up-to-standard with Shania's later recordings, but if you can overlook the quality of the recordings and appreciate the lyric and vocal performance that Shania gives, you realize that long before Mutt came on the scene, Shania had the gift. 

Besides the words to a few of the songs, I'm also going to offer my opinion, review and interpretation of these recordings.  Admittedly, I'm not the most impartial reviewer, however a few of these songs have touched a chord within me and I feel compelled to write my thoughts about them.

This is a great song about how falling in love makes you feel so good. I suspect that in retrospect, Shania reads these lyrics and thinks of Mutt, but she didn't even know who was at that time! It's full of true love forever and all that good stuff that comes with it! Heart-pounding, knees weak, breathless...she really paints a vivid picture of how she was feeling.

The song flows smoothly with a beautiful rhythm. The beat makes you tap your toes and want to sing along. Shania's sings beautifully, as usual, and reminds us all that "All You Need Is Love" to quote another famous songwriter/singer.

How would this song stack up against Shania's later volume of work? I think it stands on it's own merits. It is well written and Shania gives a great vocal performance. I'd love to hear some of these songs re-recorded with Mutt's magic touches added and the savvy that Shania has gained from years of experience. Who knows? The Beatles have re-mixed and re-released some of their old, old material in the last few years....stranger things have happened.
